Seattle?

#1 Unread post by aireq »

I want to start trying on some helmets before I have to buy one for the MSF course I'm taking. Anyone know of any good stores in Seattle, or nearby neighborhoods that I should check out?

There's a bunch - I found a good DOT approved full-face by Fulmer for $100 at Bent-bike in Lynnwood - there's one in Auburn too. You could also try the Cyclebarn up on 99 North toward Lynnwood. University Honda on Capitol Hill - small selection and pricey. Cyclebarn probably has the most. Try craigslist.com too if you want to save some money and get a used lid -some people won't do that... I personally feel like I can tell if a helmet has been substantially compromised. Good luck.

Where are you taking the class?
I took it Renton boeing - they had lots of helmets to use.
I did buy one before though. If I had known I would have waited.
If you want to look at a lot of helmets and a veritable amusement park size collection of bikes go to RMC in Renton off 167.

I got a lot of advice looking at helmets including -"My head does not go in anything but and Arai".

I did not buy an Arai, but did not go cheap either.

good luck
