Air horn on bike?

I took a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPhFG-wHK2U and was wondering if others also use air horns or upgraded horns? I know my horn is ignored by everyone and even some kids running arcoss the road infront of me.

I'm looking for a low cost improvment to my problem of my horn not being heard. Is a air horn the way to go or is it overkill? Also do most car horns work on 12V DC? My head and tail light are 12 v DC. My owners manual doesn't say what my horn is. '07 Vulcan 500 LTD EN500C

Thanks for thoughts

Check out the Stebel Nautilus mini airhorn. Twistedthrottle.com sells them with a wiring kit with relay. I have one on my 599 and it's great. A bit tricky to fit due to bulk but great.

On one of my older bikes (with a spacious crash bar) I used to have twin air horns with a small compressor. I got instant response from inattentive cagers when I used those. It sounded like an 18-wheeler and most people would immediately move back into their lane without looking over their shoulder to see that it was just a bike making all that racket.

I've considered them for my current bike, but it doesn't have a convenient place for mounting all the hardware. Also, the stock horn is surprisingly loud and effective (a first for one of my bikes).

The stebel is nice. You still can't rely on it but it's fun to shake things up a bit.

I just bought and had my husband instal a 139 decible air horn today. Man is that sucker loud! My husband and I went for a ride so he could get better perspective on the sound. Well the first time I hit the horn it was so loud it scared the crap out of him. He was laughing so hard when we stopped at the red light I thought he would fall over. He said it is absolutely worth the money.

My kids love it too, and it sounds really good to me.
I would recommend an air horn to anyone who wants to be heard.

Stebel I believe is pretty good. My old neighbor change his and he was very happy with it. Yes, you want it loud and may be a bit annoying but at least, they can hear you.
