International Motorcycle Show - NYC

#1 Unread post by kuz »

Hey all, I took my BRC course a few weeks ago, passed and have been eagerly awaiting the bike show at the Javitts Center in NY so I can do some looking around to get an idea on what I want to do for my first motorcycle. Does anyone know if you can sit on the bikes at the show or if it is a strictly hands off eye candy experience? Thanks.

Most of em you can sit on, but some vendors (like the Ducati display) make it pretty obvious they don't want you on em. But yeah, most you can sit on, try em out.

Thanks, Im pretty sure my first bike wont be a Ducati, so that shouldn't be too much of an issue. The first dealership I was in told me a Buell Lightning would be an ok first ride though, so hey you never know. Yeah right.

Lol a Buell lightning eh? Interesting...
But yeah, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, everyone had good beginner bikes there for test riding. And then Kymco had their scooters and their first ever motorcycle there... haha

I'll be there - and I'll be sitting on every bike they let me.

I'll even sit on a Hayabusa... I actually do want one, but I question whether I'm mature enough not to kill myself on one.

And the insurance might be prohibitively expensive, too. That'll always rain on your parade.

Im going to go on Friday, hopefully get two hours or so there. I'll be the guy running through the place attempting to sit on everything, dirty looks or not.

I'll be there - probably Saturday... I'll be the one with wife pregnant with twins and two little boys in tow with big "O Ring" stroller.

Hopefully it isn't too crowded, but according to articles I've been reading, I won't have to worry about the place being packed.

Nice! Maybe even one of those sissy stock motorcycle horns like the one on my Ninja 250...
