Could be it's on the compression stroke and you don't have the strength to kick it. It could be a stuck piston or vavle. Could be lots of things so I'm afraid I'll have to ask for more information.
First- what year, and model. When was the last time you rode it? Do you always kick start it? Does the motor turn over with electric start? What happens when you pull the spark plugs and try to kick it (ignition off)? Will it go past the stop point?
Cheers

It is a dirt bike and have been riding it for about 3 weeks. It is used. My son was riding one day and it died on him. I went to start it, it is not electric start, and the kick start would only go a few inches and will not move. I is like it is jammed or something is blocking it. Thanks for the info.

Is the motor seized? Will it turn over by pushing the bike in 2-3rd gear?

Yeah, but does the engine even spin? It sounds like it might be seized. That requires a rebuild to repair.......

if the motor turns in 2nd or 3rd im voting for broken gear lodged on the kickstarter.

Pull those plugs first and see if she turns over. It could be as simple as vapor lock.

take spark plug out try to kick if water shoots out of spark plug hole talk to son about what he was doing when "it just died" if this is the case replace spark plug, change oil, wag (index) finger at son, and go, go, go

If the motor doesn't spin it might not be that it's seized, but that a nut thats on the end of the crankshaft has undone itself through not having a lockwasher on (either:on properly, or, on at all)This happened on my bike and gave the appearance of being seized, my kickstart did the same as yours. It was the fault of the people who used to own it. But it's no big deal because it's easily fixed.
