Hi people ... I've been interested in bikes for a long time and finally decided to take the MSF course and look for a bike. As you may have guessed from my username, I'm Jim - and at 65, I hope it's not too late for an old dog to learn new tricks.

Thanks for the welcome!
I'm only a short distance from the local high school parking lot, and there are a lot of flat local roads (with some nice curves) that I can drive on without ever having to wander out on a busy highway ... and that's exactly where I intend to spend a lot of time. Can't wait!!!

Jump right in, Jim. It's not too late! My first ride back in my High School days was a Powell Scooter. Probably not many have even heard of those.
Later, my riding switched to the "rough string" in Rodeo.
It wasn't until the early 70's that I finally got back on two wheels and that was on a 10 speed bicycle! In a couple of years of riding I discovered that here was a Sport that I was pretty good at, so by '76, at the age of 42, I started racing. I was good enough at it to be sponsored for 11 years and bicycle racing consumed most of my non-working hours until '89, when I retired from racing and working. Even though I still ride the bicycle (usually around 5K miles a year) I got interested in bikes with motors again in 2001. Since then I've logged around 30K miles. Went thru two Hondas before I got my Suzuki in 2005. As for the horses, the only thing that interests me now is starting and training them, so they never buck! In my younger days I "broke" horses and was always disappointed if they didn't buck.

Oh? What kind of tricks will you do? A rolling stoppie?

Just kidding!
That's great and I wish you all the luck!
As I've said before, I totally endorse MSF, even for experienced riders.
Nothing can replace the feeling of the open road and riding your motorcycle...ahhhh. Hey, you're in FL, let's meet for a ride one day ok?
