Temperature of Engine Overheat

#1 Unread post by Facington »

I have a 2004 Honda CBR600F4i ; I've been told if the engine temp gets over 230, i should get off the bike that minute. It runs around 210 when i'm on open road, and about 224 when i'm stuck in traffic. Just wondering if this is normal and if the information i have been told is correct. thanks

I've got the 2005 F4i, and my fan comes on at 220 in traffic. Happens daily, nothing to worry about. Check your MOM. I just looked at mine and the "critical" temp is at 250 degrees. At that point, the temp should start flashing, and the red "something's wrong" indicator light should come on. Stop the bike and check your coolant levels. Let the bike cool down and head to the shop for some additional coolant if you're low.

Always consult your MOM! ;)
