Do you enjoy riding a slow bike quick or a fast bike slow?

I was reading a review and saw the below comment:
I get more fun riding my slow bike moderately quck than riding my fast bike moderately slow
Which got me thinking about it and what I like.

I've rode lots of different bikes in my time, small cc, big cc, heavy, light, tall, short, different engine configuations, old bikes, new bikes, riding positions, seat heights, well, you name it. And each one is a little different than the other, just slightly so that you remember the good stuff about it and rose-color glasses the other not so good stuff. haha.

From my experience, a riding a slow bike moderately quick is more fun than riding a fast bike moderately slow. But riding the slow bike quick you hit it's limitations and sometimes want more than it can freely give. Riding a fast bike slow isn't much fun other than the occassional point and squirt, stop light GP or curve in the road, the majority of the time the bike WANTS to go faster than you legally are allowed to. Go faster and the fast bike is really happy, the slow bike, not as much. Go slow on the slow bike and you'll enjoy the scenery more.

So for me, it's on the slow bike quick side as I feel like I'm pushing the bike enough that I'm having a blast without speeding.

Now, what's a slow bike?

Even a 125cc motorcycle is not a slow bike, or a 20hp bike is not a slow bike. I, myself, call a slow bike is a bike that is most happist (and wants) to go, well, lower speeds and is happist at highway speeds. The majority of Cruisers fall within this catagory, although few I'd call "slow" in speed or acceleration; they just like to cruise around. On the other hand, few sportbikes fall into the "slow" catagory, they like to rip it up and inline-4's are almost purpose built for that.

Which one to you prefer? Riding a slow bike quick or a fast bike slow?

Having done both, I get bigger kicks out of riding a slow bike fast. Granted, there's a sense of satisfaction in being able to make a slow bike crawl at 1 mph and make it seem easy, but getting my 400cc to scream along at 70-80 is more fun than the slow-creep parking lot dance with the 650cc sport bike.

Both have merits; I just like going zoooom...

Hmmm, I can't vote - as I can't answer the question yet. Only just now got my first fast bike.

We'll see if I end up selling the B-King prematurely because it is too difficult to stop in go in traffic or not, though...

I can say that at speed - in ramps, so far the B-King handles much better and I vote for the fast bike.

But doing U-turns sucks. That might be a time and experience thing, though.

When Motorcycle Consumer News reviewed the B-King, they praised how Suzuki combined driveability in day-to-day situations with the outrageously powerful top end.

That sounds very promising. Gahhh can't wait to ride some this weekend. Just need to remember to get gas first thing or its going to be a short ride.

I didn't vote because I really have no reference here. I rode a bike at the Riders Edge BRC and let me tell you it was NOT a Blast! Ha Ha, it did say Buell on the tank! Just kidding, I would never own that one though.

I have ridden other bikes long ago in the past, 20 years or so ago my younger brother took me to a parking lot to teach me to ride on a Suzuki 650 or a Kawasaki 750 something or other bike. I forget. I don't remember why I did not pursue my endorsement back then. Those were supposed to be the big bad a** bikes of the day.

Anyway fast forward to now and my current bike seems to ride like a slowpoke if I tell it to or launch into hyperdrive if instructed to. I like it either way. But if I had to choose I'd go for the fast one because once you get used to the speed it seems slow. Ha ha.

Oh yea it is supposed to be 46 degrees on Saturday and 50 something on Sunday after being 16 to 20 this morning so I am looking forward to riding the new route that I loaded into my GPS this weekend!

Well, I don't know about slow or fast. I ride relaxed and don't go any faster than I would in my car... Which isn't too slow, but isn't crazy like when I was a kid.

But not too relaxed because people scare the crap out of me.
