Rant about post count 'titles'

When I first came to this site, I didn't realize that the titles in the poster info panel on threads were related to post count only.
So I'd see things like 'rookie' & 'elite' & 'tricycle squid' and think that had something to do with how much they knew, or maybe what the community thought of them.
I figured it out before long, but I just realized that a person who joined the site after I did, but whose opinions drive me up the wall is rated as Elite, while I'm merely a regular. I know, I could talk more. But I still don't actually have my hands on my bike (stoopid check is taking the full 7-10 days to arrive!!).
I wish there was perhaps a way for the community to rate what they think of someone's post. I don't think there is a way tho, that would be fair.
Oh well, just grumbling b/c it struck me as . . . I want to say unfair, but I'm not one that's big on thinking life is fair. Possibly it's just that I worry an 'elite' idiot (not pointing fingers) might get his/her posts taken more seriously than a trike squid who's new to the board, but has been an instructor for years.

Never mind me, just wanted to blow off steam, and feel free to flame away, as there is NO practical purpose to this post.
Thanks for the time & place to release my stress.
But I do absolutely love this site. Thanks to all the wonderful people here & it's creators!!
