any one in NYS and been in an accident/ NO FAULT LAW BS?
I was in an accident on Dec 29th.
MY insurance is through State Farm. In my policy I am clearly paying for PIP but yet they are still saying i am not covered-No Fault Law in NYS.
again my policy clearly shows I am paying for PIP.
has anyone had any exp with going through insurance in NYS and getting covered personally?
I can show a pic of my policy showing that i pay for it. and i can copy and past the info involved with each coverage. cuz i have personal and property that i pay for.

What is it that you need and that your insurance isn't covering? Usually, no-fault is to your advantage: it means that your insurance will pay out of your coverage, other party's insurance will pay for other party's damage, and then the insurance agencies fight it out among themselves about who ultimately has to pay the other back. The whole point of it is to prevent the insurance companies from dragging their heels with regard to paying the damages.

I crashed my bike, no one hit me and i didn't hit anyone.
I was more asking if anyone in NY has been in a cycle accident and had there insurer cover there medical and such. When I called State Farm to file, they instantly said NYS has this no fault law and we are sending out out a packet stating why, that you have to sign it saying your medical insurance will cover your bills. Well I don't made medical etc..
from what i see that i am paying for PIP, i thought I was covered, but I guess not. If I am not covered, why do i have to pay fro PIP.
and to the other poster, i have goodled that crap out of this, been to that site and all others. again i am just trying to see if any other NYS riders have had this problem.

Just based on my conversation with the president of a major motorcycle insurance company (not all-state), motorcycle insurers typically don't provide personal injury protection (at least not to cover medical bills). It appears that any benefit you might have from it would be limited to $2,000 with regards to being out of work or being killed. It's really only a $4.32 premium...you can't assume that too much would be covered to begin with. PIP is more expensive in car insurance as a secondary measure to your standard medical insurance than that. If it was a real PIP plan, it would be boat loads more expensive.

sorry but with no fault (we have it in michigan) state farm pays whatever amount (looks like 2 grand for you minus any deductable) BEFORE your medical insurance. I actually had to use this and they paid the 2 grand for me and then my medical insurance kicked in. Someone in state farm is pulling your leg.
