Correct me if I'm wrong, BUT...

Alright, so I completed the tedious deed of standing in line at the DMV (in Chicago, so, multiply the amount that your local DMV sucks by 100 and thats getting close....) to take my permit written test. I only missed one question! The problem is, I should have missed zero. While I can live with missing one question, my perfectionism causes me to ask you all your opinions. The question was "If the road is slippery (ie: wet leaves, ice) you should reduce speed and: A) brake hard (or something lame) B) let your feet drag along the road surface C) avoid sudden movements".....Alright, now, I put C, however, the answer is B. I'm thinking its a trick question (cause C is an acceptable answer, right?) but hey that's just me....see you all on the road soon!

The key word in the question is ICE.
In ice/snow conditions, you're supposd to use your feet as 'outriggers.'
Obviously they threw in 'wet leaves' to confuse you.

Answer C was right too, but they want the BEST answer and although you should avoid sudden movements you need to drag your feet

The manual doesn't tell you to drag your feet because of ice, just to go as slow as you have to, and to drag your feet if you're at too low of speed to stay up. Something like that, I think.

well i can understand that, if your going 2 mph you need your feet down. but that wasnt the way the supposed dmv question was worded.

Something tells me that question wasn't an exact quote of what was on the paper. I'd like to see the exact question.
Avoiding sudden movements is a correct answer, are you sure it didn't say something like, "make sudden movements"??

Good luck putting your feet down around a corner... LOL
I wonder how long they expect you to keep your feet down? Until your boots start to catch fire?!?
I can understand the feet down part, but only a slow slow speeds. As putting both your feet down can upset the motorcycle's handling.

The CA DMV motorcycle book tells you to put your feet down to steady the bike in extreme conditions like ice where the bike mike go out from under you easily.

would love to see someone try to keep a 550lb bike from falling over when the wheel slides from under it, while the rides maintains his/her balance on a obviously slippery surface! I don't know, maybe I am just a newbe but I don't see it...
