So i just found out today that i have officially been accepted into university for this fall! Finally, i now know that all those times skipping class in high school paid off.... :kicking:

I took this year off in hopes of getting a better idea of where i wanted to go in life and it somewhat paid off, as i know i don't want to be working in an up scale kitchen when im 40. Anyways i was pretty jacked when i opened the admission letter, kinda gave me something to look forward to for the rest of the year as well as giving me peace of mind that i wont be flipping burgers for the rest of my life. I was granted early admission to the criminal justice program and will hopefully be getting my undergraduate degree in 2012 :clapping:

SFSU alum here! Class of 98 :D Congrats on getting in! So you're going into CJ eh? What do you want to do with that? cop?, lawyer?, DA?

Oh yeah on another note there's nothing wrong with flipping burgers bro you gotta do what you gotta do to make ends meet or what makes you happy. Some people don't have the luxury like you and I to go to college. :bouncy2:

I haven't quite decided yet on what i want to do with it, most likely law enforcement, but then again who knows it could all change once i start getting further into the program. But am i ever excited to get started :D

I didn't mean any offense to anyone with the flipping burgers comment, i am currently a senior cook at a upper scale restaurant and i feel lucky to be in the position i am as i work with people who never received/took the opportunity to go back to school and they work hard for to pay the bills thats for sure.

Despite having worked in labs as part of class curriculum my education has not paid off since I can only seem to get burger flipping jobs and I even had a tough time getting those. I left UPS because it was interfering with college.

I'm supposed to be getting a Forensic Science degree (other words a degree that requires you to learn every science, math and take every english class created) from John Jay College in CUNY. I think I'm wasting my time. one more year till graduation that is if I find an internship soon.

Think carefully about your degree.

Congrats!

Ya know, you can be perfectly happy working in restaurants until you're 40, but no matter what, having that education under your belt will give you more options...even if it means showing you that hey, you really like working food service.

Enjoy the experience!

Motorcycle Mechanics Institute Class of January 2009...
Also tried Colorado State University for mechanical engineering for a while... Not my favorite time in my life. Then tried for computer science because I did well in one programming class :frusty:
