Quick question

Its cold as hell tonight and tommarow and a lot of rain so I'm not riding my bike. this may sound like a dumb question but does letting a motorcycle idle for a little while help keep the battery charge? Or is that only when the bike is rolling? Because I know the way below freezing temps will zap the battery tomorrow when I try to start it. Thanks.

The charging system will probably not produce enough power at idle to charge the battery. It sounds like your battery might be due to be replaced, a battery in good shape should be able to turn even when cold. You might also want to look at picking up a Battery Tender if this is a persistent issue.

Depends on the bike... Most modern bikes will charge even at idle, whereas older ones (E.G. a Honda CB750) won't charge until about 2-3K RPM.
