So another year has passed the vultures are packing up and going home. The city of daytona getting ready for spring break. they'll wish the bikers were there by next week. the commercialism?(is that a word) of bike week and harley davidson is strong as ever i watched a guy and spouse buy a thunder mountain softail XLCVXCHZ MAXIMUS GLIDETAIL, cash and coudn't get it to his trailer across the parking lot. kept stallinng it so a mechanic PUSHED him to it (WHAT SERVICE) I heard him say wait till the guys at work find out i got this at daytona HD wow. I couldn't beleive that people were flying in, in helicopters to buy a bike at daytona! I think they'll be shocked at the price of the same bike at there local dealer. I like harleys i've owned a couple, but i still don't think they're even close to as nice as a high end japanese cruiser performance wise. Yea you can get a sceamin eagle gimmick but thats BIG BUCKS. I dont get it but they are pretty and made in the USA SO RIDE ON THE FACTORY LOVES YA (PEACE)

I really wanted to go to Daytona this year, I had enough money saved up if I camped and ate out of cans...
But my riding buddy backed out and the hubby's still in school and I just ain't going to the kind of parties I like, alone.

Lots of us are there for the bikes and the riding and the racing. What were you doing at "Destination Daytona?" I went there once long time ago because my (non riding) friends thought I'd like it and took me there. Never again!

That's the furthest thing from what riding is about. Are there even words to describe the lifestyle posing? I mean, everybody poses a little bit, and yeah there are lots of great riding folks out there every year who love the music and the parties and the racing and the chromed out sleds. But most of 'em....yeah, vultures.

Still wish I coulda gone, though....
