I've narrowed it down to these two and have found good deals on both. I honestly don't see much of a difference, but I would like your input as to the differences. For example, I have heard of some vibration issues on the Yamaha.

I am 5'10" and weigh 140lbs. Although I'm taller, my legs are of average length.

I have a 650 and love it! I haven't noticed any vibration issues and I use mine regularly on the highway.

The first bike I was going to buy a few months back was a 750 Spirit. Someone I knew was selling it, and I thought it was a fantastic bike. My best friend wound up guilting me into letting her have it since that was all the money she had agreed to spend on a bike. (she's been riding for 20 plus years, I'm a newbie)

I didn't notice much difference between either one. I'm really happy with mine, and don't have any complaints. (I've put 2000 miles on it in 5 weeks) Either way, I think you'll be happy.

05 Custom here. I notice a slight vibration right around 60 mph. A little slower or faster and it's gone. I love the bike so far and the vibration isn't enough to change my opinion of it.

When I still had my learner's, my friend and I were trying to get home before dark. (No night riding with a learner's) The speed limit was 100kmh (60mph) and I was doing 110kmh. No vibration. At 120kmh I felt vibration and I brought it back to 110kmh. Apparently the vibration settles down after 120kmh. I will never know because 110kmh is as fast as I'm comfortable.

The both bikes are great for both beginner and not so beginner. You can't go wrong with either one. I don't have experience with Honda but a lot claim to be such a great bike plus a lot of modification you can be doing with it. V-Star is the best of the best since I own one LOL.

Serously try to sit on both bike and choose the one that more comfrotable for you.

I think the difference I would be concerned about is riding comfort. The V-Star 650 classic has floor boards and the controls are situated forward, the Spirit 750 has forward controls as well I think but with the footpeg instead. I found the floorboards more comfortable on the highway...
