Hi Guys, I am stumped, I bought an'82 V45 Magna about a month ago that had been abused and neglected for some time. It starts and Idles great, But give it any throttle and it dies. I have replaced the battery, air filter, fuel filter, plugs, pulse generators, disassembled and cleaned the carbs, adjusted the valves, tested the coils and wires, even swapped out the spark ignighters.
Any ideas ?

I'd re-adjust your fuel/air screw. If that doesn't work you might want to try warming it up completely before you try to apply throttle. Sounds like you already know that, but just to make sure...

Thank you Wrider. I have tried that. The carbs were originally desigened running a little to much on the lean side and have a bit of a flat spot that can only be eliminated by either using an aftermarket setup by Dynojet or shimming the needles a bit (recommended by Dave Dodge Racing).
I will probably end up pulling the carbs again and rechecking the floats.
When I disassembled them in the first place, the diaphram springs had been put in wrong by one of the previous owners (one long-one short in front and back). Maybe I missed something else they did wrong.
