I just bought a 1976 Honda XL350 and I would like to put luggage on it. I am thinking ammo cans and a cheap Tupperware type top box. Any suggestions? I will get some pics over here soon.

You'll need a rack for your bike no matter what, something to keep the bags from getting into your rear wheel. Ammo cans would be great. Inexpensive and very strong. They also don't melt against your muffler. Just make sure they don't rub against the frame.
I've seen some KLR riders use large ammo cans to tour. One friend used ammo cans and downed his bike. The cans saved scratching the side of his bike and held up very well.

This was an old BMW thing. First saw an article in the ON about this in 76, I think.
I have 50cal cans on my /6 best bags I ever had, but the 30mm are the same but about 1-1/2" larger. (probably too big for your bike though)
I have seen these used in combo with 30mm on free side and 50 cal on exhaust side, If painted aluminum colour they look much like DAR (spam cans) that cost over $1000.
Changed from ammo cans...

I found a great deal on Pelicans. I did the small top loaders. I am looking for ideas to put these cases on that elderly bike. Anyone have any ideas??
