I am looking for luggage to put on the tail of a SV650 S Suzuki. We are travelling for 10 days. I have saddlebags but am looking for a tailbag that will carry a lot of gear. Any suggestions.

There are several motorcycle specific luggage companies (Eclipse, T-bags, Wolfpak and Chase Harper just to name a few)
Also there are dry bags. Used mainly by boaters (one brand name is Seal-something) but also carried by Wunderlich and Areostich, but cheaper at sporting goods like Cabella's or Bass Pro. (also some of the really big Wal marts)
If price is an issue try some of the bags at flea market and Wally World or try a military duffel (get a Nylon and not Cotton one) from Army surplus store. (the bags and/or duffels may need waterproofing) I used a cheap backpack with trash bag for liner many years, not the best but all I could afford 30 years ago.

Helen2Wheels bags.

Designed for motorcycles with reflective tape and secure tie down points. And, they're waterproof! But pricey.
If you go with dry bags, get a pair of ROK Straps or similar. They're more secure than regular bungees (I've heard too many stories of bungeed gear shifting into a moving wheel).

Thanks, I will look into those straps, they sound like a much better idea.

Keep in mind that it may be easier to pack two smaller or mid-size bags, than one behemoth bag (you may not be able to lift it).
Wolfman makes some NICE tailbags I had this one (the Beta tailbag) for my BMW f650:
http://www.wolfmanluggage.com/Tail/beta_rear_bag.html It has a roll down top and is touted to be waterproof - though I didn't get a chance to test that. It was recommended that I seam-seal the seams, which I did. Comes with tie downs as well as assorted straps and tied down points for any other gear you may be carrying.
