Well, I thought that I was all ready for spring. Cleaned and rebuilt the carb over the winter, installed a coil power mod for my ignition coils that is supposed to add a bunch of power to them, and put on new tires and pipes. So with all that done, I thought I would take the bike for a little spin to make sure everything was on the up and up. So I fire it up for the first time since installing the coil mod and it actually sounds a little weaker than it used to but seems to be running smooth so I head out and up the road, get to the end of the block and put-put-konk. It dies. So I sit there and try to get it running again but for nothing. When I get it pushed back home (thankfully it was only a block) I get it running again but it only runs for a minute or so at about 1000rpm, and if I give it any gas it dies. So I leave it for an hour or so and come back to it, and it starts right back up normal. I let it run for a few minutes and it konks out again. and it seems like it only was running on one cylinder as one was hot and the other cold. I have spark, there seems to be fuel going to the carb on that side as there is gas in the fuel filter and I know there is air, so what gives? I had the compression checked out last fall and the guy said it was good.

I'm starting to get sick of this bike, I just want to go for a ride and not worry if I'm going to get there or back home.

woot, got it figured out. One of the spark plug caps was shot. So I'm going to replace it and see what happens. I sure hope this is the end of it.

Fargo, there will always be something you need to do to the bike. These things fall into two categories. Things you want to do and things you have to do.

Right now I WANT to be out riding. I live just off one of the main drags in fargo and when I am out working on my bike, every minute or so I hear another bike go by and all I can think about is getting out and enjoying the road. Back to the NEED, I got the new caps, and that bike fires on that side now, but I found through that, that there isn't any fuel getting to that side, so I'm guessing my float is set to low, so that's the next thing I need to do. Shouldn't be that bad of a fix though, just need the time to do it.

By the time I finally get out on the road my bike will be like new again!
