And instead of working, I'm sitting in a booth, browsing the internet. There's all of 10 peopke in here right now. There's the huge good natured dude who louder than anyone has a right to be and his quasi-intellectual friend, the really hot brunette with the old guy who's either a John or her dad, I can't tell. There's some stoners who are so high and smoked so much weed they're not really sure where they are and smell like they were lost in a cheech and chong movie. And then there's the good ole boy and his wife, who've been here for about an hour or so, almost seem like they're on a date for the first time in their 15 years of marriage. Basically, a typical weekday work night. I miss these week shifts, such interesting people and it;s slow enough to actually get a good look at them all.

So here i sit in my fishbowl. Windows looking to the north so I can observe the nasty weather that comes from the arctic. On the flip side i have glass doors to the office hallway. People walk by and look in, as they do with any aquarium. Wondering what I am. Wondering if they should tap on the glass to see if I freak out or hide under my desk. Or maybe I will bump my head against the glass repeatedly so they get uncomfortable and move on. Some interlopers are even brave enough to dive in and interact, not quite knowing if I have sharp teeth, a stinger, or some type of freaky defense mechanism. Or maybe like octopus and expell ink at them, or is that a squid? Oh here comes one now...thats right, just look away...nothing for you to see here.
