Is it running right? A good rider can be very quick on a EN-500.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Agreed... A halfway decent rider would have no problem having fun on a Ninja 500. Won't keep up with a supersport, but will out-corner it without a problem.

Even the Ninja 250 I had - had its points when it was quite quick. I even had it up to 90. Hell, that's faster I think than I've gone on my B-King.

I suppose it depends on what you are looking for in a bike. I'd probably just learn and get really comfortable on the EX 500 and then pick whatever quicker than your can roll off the throttle bike like I did.

Of course, I didn't believe Brackstone when he said he missed his 250, but now I understand it.

I could definitely due with two bikes. One say that was light and got around 60 mpg and one that was massive and powerful and well respectable and fits me. :)

I mean I don't even take my bike over 5000K rpm (which I'm not supposed to now), but... really at 5000K I'm doing 58 mph in 1st gear. I hardly ever do that because the throttle is really twitchy like that. Actually, only did that once and was surprised to look down and see I was still in first gear.

Oh, for practical purposes if you want your EX 500 to be more perky just overdrive the gears until close to the red line. Not too close, though.

As metnioned, you need to shift at higher rpm's not like you would shift a cruisier. This is for all gears because it generates the most HP at higher rpm's .
