Harley's and Ladies

The Harley Dealer in Vancouver Canada is having a "Win the bike you just rode" As a woman I find riding a Harley to be a little intimidating. Maybe because it has so much power! I would like to know what you ladies think of riding Harley's, if you have one or have ridden one.

Guys, your opinions would be great too.

Personally, the vibration was too much for me, except for the Fat Boy.

If you want opinions from the ladies only, perhaps you should post this poll in the Ladies Lounge instead. Would you like me to move the post there for you? I'd give you my opinion on Harleys, but I ain't no lady.

Um, no... people looking at sport bikes don't have a frame of reference for Harleys. Nor do people who are into dual-sports, sport tourers, power cruisers, etc. In fact, Harley is outside the frame of reference for lots of people.

The reality is... it's just a bike, just like any other bike out there. To some it may be the best, but to others it is far from it. It's all a matter of personal opinion.

I'd say this forum is pretty diverse in who wants what, so I wouldn't say "a lot of people" but I'm sure there are some.

Of the some, what is it about Harley's that makes them appealing? The status? The comfort? The vibration? The power? 8)

To me its a total satisfaction...you really have to ride one to "get it".

Dont be intimidated...they aren't near as powerful as they feel.

And like Gummi said...its all a matter of opinion...everyones got a differnet bike that makes em tingle.

I have always been a Japanese bike owner and it was only recently that I decided to buy a Harley. Got a 2003 Road King. What a nice bike it is. A friend bought a Fat Boy and at a traffic light he noticed that my bike was vibrating all over the place. He asked my why it was doing this and I laughed and told him those were power pulses. Then I noticed that his Fat Boy wasn't vibrating at all. I asked him why his bike wasn't vibrating. Told him he should go back to the dealer and get his money back. Of course this was a joke. I was really surprised that his was just as calm as could be in the vibration department. Got tired of leaning over in a sport ride position on the Japanese bikes (getting older) and the Harley fit the bill perfectly. Fun fun fun.
