How mant of the riders here buy a bike a start to change thing on it right away, or do most keep it the why it came. Not talking about add ons. Harley riders don't count, we know you change thinks already.
I had my Buell for a short time and I put a lower front fender on the bike . and some other little things to it, I have more planned already for it.

To make my bike mine (when I had it) I put a tank bag, a lower set of handlebars on it, and took off the front fender extension. Cut most of the back fender off. Painted the exhaust from surface rust to black. Put a throttle rocker on it. Put a fly fishing bag on the back of the seat for my tool kit and extra spark plugs. Painted a few of the chrome bits like the head light ring flat black and some other things flat black. She was my baby. I miss her.
Picture is pre lower handle bars and fly fishing bag.

i'm not into customizing for the sake of looks. but if i can do something that makes the bike better, safer, or more ridable i will do it. i've had my new bike for two weeks. so far i've only added highway pegs to it. the list of things i'd like is growing, but not because of looks.
not sure if that's what you're asking.

To me, customization is definitely part of the spirit of having a bike. I will say though that the price is fairly impressive for some upgrades.

Technically, then, you can't reply to your own thread.

I had not planned on changing anything. When I bought my new M50, the shop had already put on different pipes with a power commander. They also changed out the grips. I initially added a sissy bar with luggage rack. Then I added a Pop Top windshield. I also add a different radiator cover. Next changed out the seat for a Mustang. I'm currently wiring a 12v adapter.
It has become a fever! My next move will be to change out the mirrors.
And to think I really, really planned on not changing a thing.

In my case it was not so much as what I put on it, but rather what I took off, namely a big arsed ugly and heavy fairing and a rattle box bin off the cargo rack, tho I have added some iso grips for comfort and an el-cheapo camera mount.

I've done a handful of performance-focused additions to mine:
--LED taillight array
--shift peg extender
--mirror extenders
--Grip Puppies
--Cramp Buster
--Tank protector
--GPS (Garmin Zumo 450)
--black reflective tape anywhere I can put it
--High output headlight bulbs
--Controller for heated gloves
Eventually (when it either begins raining money or one of my two daughters takes my advice and drops out of college) I plan to add a Laminar Lip and Hyperpro Springs.

Anything you do to your bike , looks , make it safer, and faster. It helps us all with what we what to do. Yes I know a Buell is own by Harley but it is not a Harley if you know what I mean. There not a hole lot of things out there fo my bike. When I took off the fender and put the lower fender on it I found out the old fender was a brace for the head light, well Buell dose not have another brace for this bike with the lower fender so I had to make one. Harley guy have it all, it you can't buy it from Harley they after market has it. But if there is a harley rider that really do something rad the his bike tell us. but to many out there with just add on and every body know how to do that.
PS I love all types of motorcycles. I won't put your bike down. There is only 2 bikes out there I don't like. One I owned in the past and hated it the other is the Honda DN10, I don't get that one.

That DN-01 is a mighty strange looking vehicle...
Can't say I'm real fond of it either.
For the FZR, I changed out the tail section 'cause it was fugly. And got a Clear Alternatives tail light. It already had a Vance and Hines exhaust when I bought it. God, I love that thing. Gives it a deep roar instead of that whiny sound you hear from a lot of sport bikes. And the 520 conversion chain/sprocket kit.
Methinks that's all. Not much, but I don't think I need/want anything else.
