New Engine or Swap for 2001 LS650?

Hey there,
I have a 2001 LS650 Savage with a toasted engine, so I'm thinking about replacing it. But, here's my question, would an engine from another Suzuki like say an 800 Boulevard or something be able to be installed instead without too much trouble  . I have welding experience and have done a weird swap for a car before, so I'm just curious. The frame and everything else is good, the engine, not so much. So yeah, I'd love to hear from you all before I go ahead and start replacing the stock engine. Thanks and keep on riding.

Sincerely,
John

Buddy, with enough time and money I'm sure you could get that motor in that frame.

At some point you have to ask yourself, "Self...do you really want to spend $30,000 (WAG est) to make a one-off custom Savage framed V-Star engined dealie.

I recently had new bungs welded into a Yamaha gas tank so I could use standard 3/8"NPT OFF/ON/RES petcocks instead of the stock vacuum petcocks. It's worth what ever your willing to pay to have it.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.
