Search a topic

People have asked for a search button before. I'd like something a little different and perhaps more difficult.
Sometimes when I am reading a topic and wonder about my bike. I'd like to be able to search that specific topic for others that have the same bike.........
I haven't found this capability. Maybe i'm missing something.
thanks
Pete

We have something like that... try this:
http://totalmotorcycle.com/BBS/search.php
then choose the option:
Search Query
Search for Keywords:
You can use AND to define words which must be in the results, OR to define words which may be in the result and NOT to define words which should not be in the result. Use * as a wildcard for partial matches
Make sure the bullet "Search for any terms or use query as entered" is on
then type in: GS550
and you'll only get threads with GS550 in them. You can even boil it down further by catagory, forum, date/age, - keywords and more.
Mike

Thanks for replying totalmotorcycle
I've used that I know, but that's not what I was trying for. It gets close but doesn't quite get specific enough. Say I'm in a topic, big like the MPG one, and I want to search that topic only for an answer on my bike.
That's why I wondered if it was possible to search one topic only.
Thanks,
Pete

Hi Pete,
Please call me Mike. And you are most welcome for the reply
Ah! I see what you are asking for. I don't think it's possible without a lot of code to rewrite at this time, but it would definately be handy for phpBB to have in the future.
Hopefully that's ok, I wish I could say "here you go" on this one.
Mike
