Trouble Starting The Engine

#1 Unread post by JDawg117 »

Yesterday, I had trouble starting my bike. I think there may be two possible contributing factors.

1) I hadn't ridden it in a couple weeks.
2) I had just hosed it down to clean off the dust that was standing on it.

I read in the operator's manual not to hold the starter on for more than 5 seconds, and it took me 8 or 9 tries before the engine started up. In the past 2 months I've owned it, it's always started right away. Do you think it's because of either factors I listed?

Number 1
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Number 2. If you shot some water into the air filter while you were hosing it down, this would muck up the start by diluting the air/fuel mixture in the carb. Pull the air filter and check to see if it has been damaged or saturated by water.
