Xs400 Special

A beautiful weekend, so why aren't we out riding?
My first post; I've been looking all over the web for information about the bike I just bought, a 1980 xs400 Special, without much luck and so I thought I'd give your forum a whirl. Thank you very much in advance for your help!
This thing is not simply a xs400 Special; it's an xs400 "Special II", so I am wondering first of all why Yamaha thought it was necessary to make the distinction. Are there significant differences between a Special and Special II? I have a few other questions, too, but we really ought to be outside on this wonderful Spring day so I'll leave it at that. If anybody's able to tell me of a good source of information on Yamaha's xs400 bikes however I'd be very grateful.
My bike by the way is a cream puff, garaged since day one and with only 2,400 miles on the odometer. Pretty, pretty. I would attach a photo of it but I'm an old man and I don't know how.
Anyway it appears to be in excellent mechanical condition too and I think I did good.
