I recently purchased a new battery for my 94 shadow 1100. i used it to start the bike about three times over the course of about a week and it worked great. then i left it sit for 2 weeks and the battery is 100% dead. the key was out of the bike and nothing could have been drawing power, well i don't think any way. Does anyone have any suggestions on how this could have happened.

2 reasons are possible:

1- New doesn't mean good.

2- charge it up wires off its posts. check for current draw with key out. it could be a bad/shorting wire thingy or just a carbon track on top of the battery.
