chain slack

Hello, I have to adjust the chain slack and I have a couple of questions,
if I follow the Haynes manual, it tells me to slacken the rear axle nut and also the nut on the bolt securing the torque arm to the rear brake caliper, but if I folloe the book from Suzuki, it doesn't say anything about the bolt securing the brake, so who should I follow? Also, how difficult is to do it? Thank you.

Not sure I understand. The torque arm bolt should be loosened, but you don't need to loosen the caliper from its mount, if that's what you mean.

I was talking about the torque arm bolt, because in the Suzuki manual didn't mention anything about it.
If I may, what is the slack that I should leave, 20 to 30 mm or more?

You may not have to loosen the torgue arm, often it will slide easily enough. Doesn't the manual give you the proper tension adjustment? Use that.

Thnks for the help. The manual is giving me the tension of 20 t0 30 mm, I was asking because I have read in other post that less than 35 mm is to tight.

Hi I have the same bike and I always follow the Haynes manual when adjusting the chain. The suzuki manual is sadly lacking in a lot of information.
All I do is loosen the torque arm bolt, loosen the axle bolt and adjust the chain as appropriate. I use a laser chain allignment tool to make sure that the chain is running true because the guides on either side are hopelessly inaccurate. (plus I love little gadgets like that!)
Then tighten everything up again. I use a torgue wrench to make sure all is tightened to the correct NM as detailed in the Haynes manual.
