Corbin seat for Rebel 250
Got it out of the box and was a bit nervous as to how firm it was, but it looked good and I liked the contour of the seat back. Time from turning the first bolt on the stock seat to tightening the last on the corbin was 18 minutes 10 seconds (I didn't even forget to put my saddle bag thing back on!). Good install I was happy. Sat on it and oh my this is a pretty hard seat, but I could feel the improvement for my 32" inseam instantly. It put me about 1 1/2" back. My legs dropped to the ground more naturally and the controls were a joy.
Ok enough sitting. Fired up the bike and 10 minutes later I was on I94 and went west to south I65. Figured t was a good time to see west Lafayette. I gotta admit I moved around on the seat a bit for the first hour or so, but once I got use to it I settled in pretty good. On the Interstate it is firmer then what I would have liked, but the overall posture of the ride made up for it. Way more comfortable on my legs then the stock seat.
Once I got into lafayette is where the seat really started to shine a bit. In town stop light to stop light this thing is great and in low speed turns it feels like the seat is holding on to you. If your an intown and short distance rider this is a pretty good setup. Long distance is still questionable on the interstate. I took SR's on the way home (231 to 10 to 421) and it was better, but I stayed between 55mph and 65mph. Getting off of it though after about 5 hrs I felt better physically then I do with the stock seat (oh I'm 51 and physically matters more when you get older) I'll give it an 8. If it was just a little softer it would have been perfect. See how it is after it breaks in a bit.
