I take the motorcycle safety course this sun, mon&tues. Took a kickstart program last wk. 4hrs. It determines whether your up to the MSF or not.
I was. I've got homework already. Think I'll do ok.

I never took a "kickstart" program, but to me the MSF BRC was awesome! I just finished last week.
You'll have a great time and learn a lot!
Take some advice: if you bought new boots in anticipation of learning to ride, you'll probably be better off if you have a pair that you alread have broken in, so long as they cover your ankle.
The first day I wore my brand new HD boots, and the toe was so large that I had trouble fitting it under the shift lever. The next day I just wore my old work boots and did fine.

my advice is stay away from the dirtbike unless your already comfortable on one.

Kickstart originated in Florida. It was put together because they were finding out that many couldn't complete the BSF going in cold. It was to tough for some. AK adopted it for the same reasons, to weed out those who for some reason felt they didn't want to go any further. It is elective. You are not required to attend it but they encourage one to take it. It costs $99 for 4hrs of a 'short course in safety, & some riding. Actually I found it to be fun! It comfirmed my desire to go on to the Basic riders course or BSF.

Its funny you mention boots, yeah, I did buy a pair of steel toed biker boots and I wore them in the kickstart program.. Those small 125cc suzy's shifters were hell to get my toe under!!! Not like the 'nice Vstar Yam 650c classic' I sat on today..It had a nice shifter. Heel toe shift. (drool)...

Oh, OK.. I did put a roller skate on the top of my helmet???? Guess I won't be needing it ??!!! lol!
