Hi
I need to look something up and I think it might be in the DMV booklet.

Do you have to have both mirrors to pass safety inspection in ONtario or will one (the right) do it?

Can't find anything online - might be in the beginners manual, but that's $16 from DMV - does anyone know or have one they can look it up for me?

thanks

I just cked the official MTO Motorcycle Handbook and it does not specify whether you need to have both mirrors for your safety. sorry - that's not much help.

I looked at the motorcyle handbook. It only says that both mirrows have to be adjusted properly. All pictures show two mirrows. However I did a search and found the following :
Highway Traffic Act - R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 611
(9) The motorcycle shall be fitted with the number of mirrors prescribed and,

(a) each mirror shall be securely mounted and maintain a set adjustment; and

(b) no mirror shall be cracked, broken or have any significant reduction in reflecting surface owing to deterioration of the silvering.

(9.1) A motor tricycle shall meet the requirements of clauses (9) (a) and (b) and shall be fitted with at least two mirrors that conform to the requirements set out in Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111 under the Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (Canada).

You will notice that the above is from Ontario reg from 1990, however there is no reason to believe that the number required would be reduced.

hope that this is of some help.
