I was recently given a Craftsman motorcycle jack (the one featured in this article: http://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/access ... index.html

I noticed today when I went to use it the first time that the oil pan on the Sabre seems to extend below the frame. Does this preclude using this sort of jack? I don't think the engine is a stressed member since it is soft mounted, but I could be completely wrong. Anyone deal with this before?

tried to check out the jack you're talking about, but got the dreaded 404 "Page Not Found" error. think they took the story down.

I wouldn't use the oil pan to raise the bike. Get a couple pieces of 2x4 to place under the lower frame rails, which should give you the clearence needed.
