my problem is in my 2nd gear every time i rev over 6k with the clutch out my transmission drops into neutral without fail. it is a 93 yamaha fzr 600 with 16k miles on it. i am a noob with motorcycles and would like eny info.

Sounds like the engagement dogs(not the teeth) have rounded off of second gear, possibly combined with a bent/worn shift fork. Common problem on older Yammy trannys that have been shifted from first to second too hard, too many times. The parts are not too expensive, but the labor sure is.... the engine has to be split open to get at them.

2nd jumps out of gear
Bend shifting fork for sure, just skip 2nd or pay a fortune and split the cases, the parts can run into some money depending on how many are effected. I hope your a good mechanic or just won the lottery.
