I am just starting a new tour company and maybe looking for additional tour guides. I am looking for advice on what freelance tour guides would charge as a daily rate?

Tours to include Wales, Lakes, Scotland, France, Spain & Portugal initially with first tours starting May 2010

Any ideas as to rates would be helpful as would anyone interested in this type of work. This is the ideal type of work that someone could do during their normal working holiday periods or on a part time/wekend basis

Somewhat disappointed that response from this forum has been zero whereas have had loads of interest from elswhere....

Anyway, I have now begun building the team but am still looking for freelance tourguides as well as qualified first aid and map reading instructors.

First draft of the bew website is up and running at www.extramilebiketours.com

As most of the membership here is from North America, not England, that really shouldn't come as a surprise.

Agreed. If you wanted to do tours around the US or Canada, we're interested, and I'm the first to volunteer for Colorado tours.

I've never used a tour guide. Or a travel service. Am I missing something? Beside spending a lot of extra beer and food money.

I could do some of those weekend tours! You do pay expenses and air fare, right?
