Harley Colors

Can anyone please tell me why Harley refuses to do bright colors anymore. My first Harley was a 2000 Road King Aztec Orange. Loved it, but wanted cruise. I've done the 2002 Concord Purple and the 2004 Chopper Blue. I currently have an '07 Pewter gray FLTR. Our options are Dark this or Dark that. Now Triumph and Yamaha have fallen right in line with the dreary same old colors.

Not mad, just wish there were more options.

I would also like a nice loud green...like if that cool dragonfly green they did a couple of years ago ate some mushrooms.

How many friggin' Harleys are you gonna buy before you're happy? With the money you've spent - and lost at trade in time - you could have paid to get one of them painted in whatever "look at me" colour you wanted. :D

sez the guy who's owned an '04 FLHT, '06 FXDI and now an '07 FLTR

You are right about the loss in value. Since H-D can't handle making the Screemin Eagle Road Glide into a tourer, a new design might be coming. Hopefully it will have more color options.

Bright colors save lives!!??

I'm a simple country boy myself..... Flat black with a smattering of chrome or polished aluminum and I'm happy... Harley HAS stepped away from some of it's more "loud" color combos and I guess that's due to public demand. Best combination of colors I can think of from HD was it's rootbeer and cream combo from the (1988?) Heritage springer. I'll never forget seein' that combo on that bike. Beautiful combo, IMO. Harley ain't the only company to tone down its colors, but on the other end of the spectrum a fella up the road from me is ridin' around on a newer GL 1800 Goldwing.... Canary yellow front to back, top to bottom and everywhere in between and OMG, that thing is bright! I doubt ANYBODY would be able to claim they never saw him if'n they ran him down. =)

Flat black + whatever other subdued color you can think of seems to be the trend lately. Kinda the whole ratbike thing without the rat part of the equation.

I suppose if you want a particular color and are spending harley levels of money id probably just shell out the extra cash on a custom paintjob too.

Three Harley Models come in turquoise. They are the Road King Classic, Softail Delux and Softail Custom. I thought they all looked good. More colors in all the models .... yeah good idea.
