I'm sure that this has been answered somewhere else on this site, however I couldn't find the answer. How does one go about removing small spots of rust for the surface of mufflers? Any and all thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

What's it made of? Mine is brushed stainless so fine steel wool works.
I never can figure out where they find all those metal sheep though.

Don't use steel wool. Use bronze wool (should be available in the wood refinishing section of any hardware store). Steel wool leaves traces of steel, which will rust in turn...
NevrDull works like a charm, but it doesn't remove rust. It can prevent rust, I think.

Let me guess--they get that when a tin sheep mates with a copper sheep!

nevrdull removes minor surface oxidation...full out rust, i think you'll be hardpressed to find anything that completely removes it. nevrdull definately makes it look better though.

Doesn't work...I wore a pair of pantyhose all day, and despite that, my muffler still had rust spots. The Can of Coke helped because I was very warm in those panyhose. ..........
