Sportbike for the tall guy?

I've had my eye on sportbikes lately as maybe a future option. Not seriously looking into anything yet though (still in love with my magna :D ).
I like the looks of the smaller sport tourers, and sportbikes with a more upright position like the FZ6. Not really into the race replicas. The thing is I'm just over 6' tall (like 6'1 or 2), and I'd want a bike that's comfortable for 2-3 hours at a time.
Any good models out there for tall riders?

just go to the shop and sit on them for an hour or so. any dealer wouldnt care im sure. thats the only way to get an idea how you will feel on one. im short i guess only 5'10" and i fit them fairly ok its still a cramped ride position for anyone. i have a messed up hip(well its a metal hip now) and my bike after 2 hours or so my hip is in pain. havent taken any real sport machines out long enough, but i think my ride position is pretty close to most that it would be about the same experience.

I was pokin around at a dealer last week and saw a V-strom, since I was just browsing I didn't have the nerve to ask the guy to bring a ladder over so I could try it on. Course, being only 5'6" I spose a lot of bikes look tall to me. Seriously, i prolly could have tippy-toed it :?

I'm 6'2" and I have the FZ6. It's pretty comfortable, however most any bike is going to take some getting used to. I think the biggest problem you'll have is the seat. It could definately be softer.

I think a good bike for you would be the Honda 919 http://powersports.honda.com/motorcycle ... Id=CB900F5

I'm 6'3" and ride a Hayabusa, many tall people complain that they can't see the top half of the gauges, they have aftermarket screens that open that up. I personally don't have any problem with it. I have ridden from sunup to sundown (with small stops for gas and drink) The first couple of times it was rough but now that the bike and my butt are broken in, it's fine. As far as the performance of the bike, I can't think of anything better.

I ride a 01 sazuki bandit 1200, and I'm 6'5". The one thing I did that made it a lot nicer ride, was to raise the handlebars a couple inches. All the difference in the world. I agree though, the biggest problem you'll find is the seat.

I was sort of under the impression that sportbikes were designed around shorter people. It certainly seems so when you watch those racers cramp themselves into those RR bikes. Of course there must be something out there that will fit you. Like everyone else says head out there and sit on as many as you can find.
