ZZR1200

If I have anybody who will speak to me I have a problem you might help me with. I had sell my Honda ST1300A because of biz. *Shrug*

Now my brother (I think to p*ss off my mother) throws me the keys to a brand new Kawasaki 2005 ZZR1200. He says he got a good deal on it and I checked it out. It matched what he said. $4999 with full warranty and extended plan is available. It has a few options to go with it like hard shell luggage and he had a higher handle bar put on it to make it more comfortable. It's got a few other things but he wouldn't tell me anything else except when I got back on my feet, I would love it. Oh, its got an oil cooler.

Now the problem. What the heck is it? I've read everything I can on it and I get that it is a sport-touring version of their high end racer replica of the period. It doesn't have ABS, I think. Not a problem, I grew up on powerful bikes without ABS or LDS. It's just that it is nearly 5 years old and I have spec sheets and such but no idea of what the bike is actually like. Does anyone know anything about it? The local dealer was as useless as he has always been.

These aren't the pictures of "my" bike. I downloaded them to maybe jiggle someone's memory.

Any help will be appreciated.

Disclaimer: I have absolutely no experience with this bike.

That said... I did have the opportunity of riding around on a ZZR600 for a little while, and it is quite comfortable. And that's about all I can tell ya. :-D

Not sure how different it'd be from the 1200, other than the obvious, but I definitely wouldn't kick one of these out of the garage.

Especially with that beautiful color.

Wish I had a brother to throw me the keys to ANY bike. :-(

Then you would have to be part of my family and that might be too much to bear.

Nice looking bike! For $4999, seems like a hell of a buy.

OMG, I hope so, for my impulsive brother actually believes that I will get well enough to actually ride it.

I've got to. I can't let anything get in the way of it. I'm to young to just stop.

I got your PM, thank you...

Good bike. I've also ridden a ZZR600 (actually a few of them) and basically the difference is engine and bike size. Like you said, for Kwaka, the ZZR is to the ZX-R as the Katana is to the GSX-R for Suzuki.

Keep this window open...

I've been reading about the bike and it is rather facinating but I think a bit much for me as I am now. However, a small voice is already saying she wants it... Things may change quickly...

Vroom... Vroom...
