I voted for sound, but looks are important for me. One of the main reasons I never looked into aftermarket exhaust for my Shiver. The bike was so unique looking that most exhaust setups just looked silly.

I can tell you that price is very important.

I'm trying to have a muffler epiphany.

Brackstone, I thought you were just being b*tchy about Shivers and Aprilia in general. No modern motorcycle company could be so inept. However, even some of the Aprilia forums are screaming about the company, the dealers and even particlar sales people.

Is the bike that bad? I've heard you got all the recall stuff finished on it but hated the dealer and the the company I believe. The reports on it say it is a great naked medium bike. But individual people say that is dissapointing. Which is it?

If you think this might affect the fact you're trying to sell yours, don't do anything to hurt yourself. I'm just curious.

As for a aftermarket exhaust system, where would you put it. It looks like a mass of tubes already though it is so good looking.

I know this doesn't fit the thread but a NH750. I still have mine though it's been so long that I turn it over, I may have rebuild it just to get it going. I loved it and wish they still made it for it would be such a good bike for newbies who have gotten out or the little bike stage.

I hope yours is doing well for you still!!!

I do my own tuning so I play all sorts of exhaust timings so design is important though I will build my own for certain situations.

Help any?

#1 performance
#2 weight
#3 price

Availability obviously precedes everything. If they don't offer it to fit my bike, I can't buy it. It's easy to find systems for 2-3 year old bikes, it's a bit harder to find them for previous generation models.
No Witnesses.... :shifty:

Agreed with Buzzz for the top 3 though the second two are switched.
1. Performance
2. Price
3. Weight (if I really wanted to cut down a lot of weight I'd go on a diet myself... haha)

Oh and if you're doing this for a company, tell them not to make exhausts so freakin loud. (Two Bros and Cobra come to mind specifically).

A deep rumble is nice, a bark when you are really on it is nice, but when you're just cruising and you can drown out the 10,000 dollar stereo system 3 blocks away, it's not cool. A lot of us want to be courteous to neighbors, especially in the mornings/late at night.

Me too, on both but it's not as important on a 750lb bike.

I don't care so much about the $10,000 dollar system, ( actually, I would by the pipes that could do this just for grins), I find that riding certain pipes that are made LOUD on purpose just get so tiring to ride after a while. This goes for Harley or metric cruiser types who take the baffling out of their mufflers. Of course an asmatic grandmother on a tricycle can out run them while they try and figure where all their power went too.
