Kawi Vulcan Speedometer problem

So, while I was riding my bike on the highway yesterday, I glance down to check my speed and notice that the needle on the speedometer had dropped to zero and wasn't moving. Also, the odometer and tripometer had stopped counting miles. I think that it is likely a just a cable problem, but I'm not sure. It's a 2002 Vulcan 500. Also, I am not exactly sure where to find the speedometer cable to check.
Any suggestions?

I'm pretty sure the speedometers cable runs to the front wheel.

If it's not a fancy electronic gadget, there should be a cable running from the back of the speedometer to the front wheel. The most likely problem is that it has come loose at one end or the other. If it appears to be firmly attached then I'd suggest pulling the cable at both ends and verify that the internal element still turns freely. If the cable is good, then the problem is either in the speedo itself, or the gear at the front wheel that drives the cable.

Yep on the EN500 it's a cable running to the front wheel. Do what flyinrider said and check both ends, if necessary you may need to unscrew one end and make sure it still turns. Sometimes they jam up or break in the middle.
