Has anyone else ever had the urge to jump off of their bike while cruising down the road for no apparent reason?

Maybe you should seek help for this affliction...
Unless of course you're trying for an entry in the Darwin awards...

That's what I was thinking

. I would never actually do such a thing and I asked this more as a tongue in cheek question. But I have wondered what would happen to me sans bike if I had to bail. Most of the scenarios that I envision are not very pleasant. I 100% recommend staying with the bike whenever possible.

No, come on bro, every one knows the proper thing to do in any case of emergency is to immediately lay the bike down and bail. Steel and nylon have much better stopping power than brake pads and rubber. Come on now.

Only when my head is spinning from pondering that ageless Zen question-without-answer: "Do these jeans make me look fat?"

Urge? no. Imagined it? Yeah. Take a look at the road passing directly under your feet for a second while at speed. It makes you really think about what could happen if you were suddenly bike less.
*Warning It's probably not a good idea to look directly under your feet while riding at speed. It's stupid and gives you a vertigo feeling. *

I've experienced this (involuntarily) and I would not recommend it.

Imp of the perverse. Edgar Allen Poe thought all of us have a bit of it in us.

not to mention that BRC drilled into me that "you GO where you LOOK"
(and P.S. Rockbottom - if you have to ask, then you KNOW the answer - and it's not good)
