Intimidation

I know it's not generally a good idea to go around purposely intimidating cagers. But when it does happen, it's funny to watch. A little while ago I was slowing down to pull into my parking space (it's slanted so I kinda have to do a u-turn). I notice the car behind me running up on me, in a serious hurry. Suddenly the person honks as I try to start my turn and avoid them. I turned my head all the way around and stared at her for like half a second. She was instantly flailing her hands in some sort of frantic apology. I laughed about it later.

I admit it...... I love to intimidate cages.

The road outside my house is a purpose-built radar trap (the cops in this province would walk right over a rape-in-progress to write a speeding ticket.... ) and they plant a photoradar vehicle there at least 4-5 times a week.

Or they did. 2 weeks ago I jumped on the bike to run to the store and they had the camera car sitting there generating revenue. The cameras are manned by 'specially trained' non-cops who are paid to sit in those things all day just make sure no one destroys them. On my way home, I idled up from behind the car outside my place, stopped even with the driver's window and just stared at the guy for about 2 minutes. He was obviously uncomfortable, but I never took my hands off the bars or made any move at all. Just stared at him. Then putted off and turned into my driveway 2 houses up parked in the driveway and got out a lawnchair, which I sat in smoking for a half hour, pointing and arguing like there was somebody sitting beside me.

They haven't been back in 2 weeks.

That's about the safest 'intimidate 'em on the bike' story I got. All the rest involve bullying cars out of my way at speed and probably are best not re-told here......

Heh I'm a big guy, and when I ride all you can see of me is what you can see through my clear faceshield, minus the sunglasses. I've intimidated a few people before. Some on purpose, some not!

What's really fun is getting up next to a cager that's cut you off and they know it, looking at them very very menacingly, and pretending like you're going to make a move...

That's the way I look, but I have a smoked visor. So all they can see of me is the thin spot between my lid and my jacket collar. I've definitely done the masked-man stare down to cagers that are hell bent on disproving the Pauli Exclusion Principle.

That is the best description I've ever heard. And I'm stealing it. :)

OK, Mr. Scientist. :P Big words like Pauli Exclusion Principle should have a link provided so I don't have to google it to find out what the heck it means.

Personally, I think if you are a woman on a bike, you don't really have to do anything to intimidate people. A woman in, traditionally a man's sport, just has a certain "don't mess with me" aura. 8)

I personally like to wink at the little boys in their little cars and then waste them off the line. Actually really not hard to do around here..... sad commentary on automatic versus standard.

Cripes, you don't even have real cops handing out tickets on the highway...

Sheriffs with the power to ticket, next thing you know, they'll have volunteer days on highway 1

"Come join the fun, write a ticket for you friends and neighbours"

Jebus H.M.S. Christ, Doc.

Don't be giving these idiots in charge here any ideas......

The reason they got these tin badged Sheriffs handing out tickets like advertising fliers is because the RCMP and city cops are hiding behind parked cars and in bushes in town, ready to whip out their spring-loaded ticket books like some Ninja wannabe's.

Haha, you got inside a cager and a fake cops head?! Simultaneously? Cheers, my good man.
