Draggin Jeans, U.S. v. Australia

I'm a big fan of Draggin Jeans but am confused by the fact that there is a U.S. and an Australian company with the same name and a similar logo, but different product lines. Does anyone know if they're related? The U.S. ones are significantly cheaper than the Australian equivalent. Is there a difference?

The Australian ones have more Kevlar coverage, and more color choices (and they send knee protection when they ship, US Draggin doesn't that I know of.) I got some red camo pants last year and really like them.

The companies used to be related years ago (from what I could find out, don't take this as gospel) but split.

Given a choice between them, if I had the cash I'd spring for the Australian Draggins...the US version is perfectly fine, but I like having more coverage and color in my pants.

I just had a pair of Australian ones shipped over. I'm actually wondering how tough these things are. I thought the kevlar (the big yellowish fabric on the butt and knees?) would feel, I dunno, more abrasion resistant, or rigid, or something. It feels vaguely like terry-cloth.

The Kevlar in both US and Australian are the same...and it holds up remarkably well (so demonstrated by a friend, I have not gone down in my Draggin jeans or shirt...did bite in in some Icon pants once. Those held up ok...)

if i suddenly find i need the kevlar, there will be LOTS of color in my pants!!!

I'm not thrilled with the velcro attachment of armor in the draggin usa...was hoping for something more substantial.

brosh actually offers to add kevlar to any of your OWN jeans, with pockets for the armor. www.brosh.com

According the the australian site - I think the Kevlar material they use is supposed to be soft.

I love the way these jeans perform in the videos, but they don't really seem to offer much in the way of impact protection.

Saving my beautiful skin is great... Not having broken legs/knees/ankles/err what have you's.... That would be better.

Did you ever notice that they never sell CE approved ball armor? What's the deal with that?

I mean, I'd rather lose a foot than inches in another place...

I'm just saying. In a way that hopefully doesn't cross any lines.

nah - crossing the line would have been including measurements. Being a regular guy would have been, well, losing a foot is better than losing it elsewhere leaving ONLY a foot there....

I have a kevlar helmet courtesy of the U.S. Army. I could jury rig it for that.
