i have a '82 maxim xj650x i've heard a lot of good things about them and am really excited to get mine on the road. i need an ignitor (?) unit though and i'm wondering where a good place is (for someone who doesn't have a lot of money right now) to find parts. or if someone is parting out a bike that would be willing to give some parts away? maybe i'm asking too much. anyway i'm new to the forum (and riding) and would like to learn as much about my bike as i can.

Have you tried ebay? I have bought a few things from ebay for my xj750 82 maxim. try this link.
