Helmet Communication kits?

#1 Unread post by tcawrse05 »

So I'm looking for a communication kit for my full face helmet? I've been eyeing the chatterbox XBi2 i think it was ... my main use isn't necessarily for communication between bikers but more for mp3, phone, and GPS I'm sure there are other brands and such out there but I was hoping for some other opinions ... I have read a few negative reviews about chatterbox, but a lot of good reviews also. my phone and GPS will both be bluetooth but my zune isn't (unless I buy an adaptor). So I guess my questions are ... What's availbe and your opinions, how many bluetooth devices can be hooked up at one time, is it possible to have say the gps have priorty followed by phone, then gps or how would that work. thanks for the info

I have the BlueAnt which I typically only use for riding with my wife/talking to other bikes. However, it pairs with my phone and I believe it can be paired with a GPS as well. I use an iPod shuffle with earplug/earphones when traveling so I don't know that it would do well for MP3s - also the one I have is just on one side of your head, I don't know if they've come out with a dual-speaker model yet. My wife used it with her blackberry for music for a bit.

For me, I use the BlueAnt for convenience so I don't have to take my helmet off to call people at stops. I've never used it and never plan to use it for the phone *while* riding, but I may be in the minority there. I imagine the GPS directions would be convenient as well for most people. For me, if hearing a GPS tell me where to go (3x, no less) makes me insane in the car, I might go really crazy if it did that to me while on the bike.

The wife wrote up a review of it here: Clicky
