I have already scheduled it (along with cams growing)...but I was wondering if any of you twin cam fellas have any experience with direct gear drive conversions.

Well it is in. Picked it up yesterday.

Sounds wierd...a whirring noise...and the beast has a new song... not too mention a different personality. The 510 cams seem to be a good addition. One accidental burnout told me I have to settle down for a minute and relearn her temperment.

Whirring noise ought to disappear after a while as the gears mesh and wear to each other. Nice though, let us know how it affects handling and such!

Wrider, No expected handling effects...other than she has more balls (that is such a hilarious mix of metaphors to me) than she used too, so I will have to relearn my throttle control in turns and such.

Gummi, nah...it was an honest oops....too cheap for tires...a little throttle and dumping the clutch used to give me a good hard launch...now it will cost me money.

Off to look for a ticket or two.

Newer Harleys have Twin Cams...stock with a chain drive connecting.
Replaced with a gear and different cams. I am probably terming it wrong.
