First ride out

Hello to whomever reads a newbie intro.
First time taking a spin here on TMW forums - thanks for being around.
We live in Michigan and are fairly new to riding. I've been riding a bit here and there for 2 years and wife just passed her MSF Basic Rider Course end of July this year. We just acquired an '83 Honda Shadow VT500C for her, which needs some work - fork seals, head gaskets?, and a new back tire. Will be repairing asap. The '82 Honda Goldwing - GL1100 - is virtually naked. They look pretty darn cool when unearthed from beneath all the fairings and baggage. Hopefully be upgrading to some more chrome bits on it in the year to come. Look forward to being a member of this forum.
