Bar Snakes

I am thinking of getting a bar snake to reduce the vibration in my custom handle bars for my new 950 Vstar. Is there anything I should know? How do you install it?

They won't work on a bike with internal throttle or any wiring running through bars. Also some bikes with air assist suspention use handle bars as a storage tank.
