BMW's making a bike with a straight six?
Dunno how much of this concept will end up in a production bike, but a lot of the details seem fit for production:

Cool bike, but I can't help but think that there is someone in Germany who is a Honda fan.

Sharp eye High Side! It seems BMW is deviating from making very original designs and are now copying Japanese bikes.High_Side wrote:Cool bike, but I can't help but think that there is someone in Germany who is a Honda fan.

Agreed, beautiful, but as for the Busa and Ninja buyers, they've already got the K1300S out there for them.HYPERR wrote:Great looking bike!
Is BMW looking to go after the Hayabusa & ZX14 buyers?

According to the article, "The new BMW straight-six will further expand the K-Series in the foreseeable future. The first model to be introduced will be an innovative and luxurious BMW touring machine."
It's pretty vague wording. You never know, they still might come up with S (or even R) versions.

Well, if Honda won't make it why not someone else? Honda have been so slow to bring new bikes to market that they are essentially providing the competition with ideas, like the RSV-4 Aprilia. The bike that everyone was asking Honda for finally got built by someone else.....and they did a great job.HYPERR wrote: It seems BMW is deviating from making very original designs and are now copying Japanese bikes.
I'm still waiting for Honda to build the 644 Supermono show bike from a dozen years ago....
