First good ride on cbr hurricane project bike.

#1 Unread post by ronboskz650sr »

Chris and i went on our first good ride together for quite a while, today. The Hurricane is fully legal and running strong. We roasted some twisty Missouri back roads for about 60 miles today. His new rear tire is scrubbed in to about 1/4 inch from the edge of the tread pattern. Not too bad for the first real ride. He's getting the hang of it after riding 5000 miles on the En 500 vulcan. The bike looks sweet (as you all know) going down the road, and the sound is straight out of the Speed channel Sunday afternoon category. He is keeping it real, and rides with bent elbows, feet on the pegs at the ball of the foot, knees gripping the tank to eliminate pressure on the bars. It was windy, and 91 degrees out, but we had a blast anyway. Sorry, no pics, yet.
Ride safe...God bless!

Ron,

Sometimes pics aren't required. Taking your son out for the first ride on the bike you both built is one of those times. Enjoy the rides!

(But also remember - the second ride requires pics! )
